Advanced digitalization and agronomic prediction in table grapes through quadruped robotics, computer vision and artificial intelligence

The PreVid Operational Group addresses a strategic need of the sector: to digitalize, automate and bring objectivity to the critical agronomic and commercial management processes of a high-value production system such as the overhead-trellis vineyard (parral). Dividing the project into four specific objectives allows for a structured, progressive development of the system. A series of expected outcomes has been identified for end users: a substantial improvement in the objectivity and accuracy of bunch counting and yield estimation; a reduction in the costs associated with manual sampling and field technical staff; optimization of agronomic management through decisions based on predictive data; improved logistics and commercial planning, especially during export campaigns; access to a scalable tool that can be replicated in other vineyard structures or similar crops; and the generation of knowledge on intra-plot variability, vigour-limiting factors and phenological prediction, with strategic value for the digitalization of the crop.

Agerpix Technologies is the coordinator of the Operational Group, developed in collaboration with the Tecnova technology centre, the grower MOYCA grapes and the technology company Codesian, thus combining experience in the agricultural sector, computer vision, artificial intelligence, robotics and precision agriculture.

Funding: 100% from EAFRD and MAPA

PREVID is 100% funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADER) and Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), under the 2025 Operational Groups call (file no. REGAGE25e00048171574). The total approved budget amounts to €587,281.48 for a three-year implementation period.

Este nivel de intensidad de ayuda refleja el carácter innovador del proyecto y su alineación con las prioridades de la política agraria europea: digitalización, sostenibilidad y mejora de la competitividad del sector hortofrutícola.
