The company continues to build and consolidate its relationship with Peru’s fruit and vegetable sector after choosing the country to open its first subsidiary in Latin America a few months ago
Agerpix is strengthening its presence in Peru alongside Hortus, its local partner in the Peruvian market, while continuing to build closer ties with the country’s fruit and vegetable sector. A few months ago, the company opened its first subsidiary in Latin America in Peru. Agerpix is therefore consolidating its commitment to the Peruvian market through direct contact with companies and professionals in the sector and by exploring new opportunities to apply its technological solutions.
Over the course of two weeks, the company’s CEO, David Francés, and Agerpix Peru Country Manager Antonio Gómez visited fruit and vegetable companies in different parts of the country, accompanied by Héctor Sánchez, General Manager of Hortus, and Segundo Córdova, Head of Agrotechnology and Services at Hortus.
The visits allowed Agerpix’s management team to gain further first-hand insight into fruit and vegetable operations in Peru, exchange views with technical teams and senior management, and explore new applications for the company’s solutions. These activities are particularly relevant following the opening of Agerpix’s Peruvian subsidiary and represent another step in the company’s internationalisation strategy.
Technology in the field
One of the main objectives of these visits was to see how Agerpix’s solutions address the real-world needs of companies. During one of the visits, the Agerpix team joined Hortus in its field counting activities and met with agricultural and operations managers to gather their feedback on the results obtained with OnFruit, the solution marketed by Hortus in Peru under the BigFrut brand.
Direct contact with industry professionals also provides valuable insight into production processes and helps identify new opportunities for applying the technology. For Agerpix, this feedback is particularly relevant at a stage in which understanding the local market and adapting solutions to each operation are key factors.
The programme also included a visit to a packing facility in Chepén, where the Agerpix and Hortus teams reviewed the processes on site to determine which solution could deliver the greatest value to the company’s operations.
Hortus, a key partner for Agerpix’s growth in Peru
The collaboration with Hortus is enabling Agerpix to strengthen its ties with Peru’s fruit and vegetable industry and establish direct dialogue with producers and companies across the sector. The joint presence of both companies’ teams during these visits facilitates the identification of specific needs and the search for technological solutions adapted to each operating environment.
The progress of the Peruvian subsidiary is another step in Agerpix’s international strategy, which aims to bring its computer vision, artificial intelligence and data analytics solutions to new markets while, above all, working alongside local industry players to develop projects with direct applications in the field and at fruit and vegetable packing facilities.
